In 2017 my family and I took a trip to the Toronto zoo. Being raised in Brampton, it was somewhere we went almost every summer, but since moving up north we don’t get there quite as often.
Also in 2017, Doodlebug Designs released their ‘At the Zoo‘ collection.
Coincidence?…. I think not!
I wanted…no, NEEDED, to use this collection for our trip to the zoo! Take a look at the layout:
This is probably one of my most favourite layouts I’ve ever made. I used the 12×12 collection pack, stickers and odds & ends.
Take a closer look at the leaves:
This is fuzzy green fun foam that I got from Cricut when I ordered my Explore Air a few years back. Since then, I can’t find anymore so I’ve been saving (okay…hoarding) it. This was the perfect project to use it on! I die cut the leaves using a Newtons Nook leaf die set in my stash.
For the journaling I typed it up in Microsoft Word and cut it into sentence strips.
I could have just included the family photo on the layout, but I thought a few animal shots would showcase our experience a bit more. I die cut them with a stitched square die.
This layout was so much fun to make, and I’m so glad I finally got to use the zoo collection.
Thanks so much for looking!
